Production: Scripting
Our script was not that hard to create as we decided we wanted minimal talking. Because we were creating the opening sequence of a film, to make it tense wedeemed it more effective to have minimal talking. With flashbacks playing throughout the opening, there could be many effects drawn from the silence of the main character. With the main character not talking and not showing many emotions it would confuse the audience. He would fit the typical role of a shy, quiet boy. However when the flashbacks showing the boy raping and savagely beating a girl, the audience would realize he there is a lot more to him than meets the eye. Stereotypically in thrillers, when there is silence you are expecting something alarming to occur. Altough script is vital within a film, we concluded that if, for the opening of a film the main character was silent it would make our film a lot more mysterious and have a greater effect on the audience.
